Dan Brokes is a man who loves the outdoors and taking risks. He married into the business of his father-in-law, J.L. Higgins, but as the years went by, the humdrum life of a clerk became more and more difficult for him. One day Dan decides to give up everything – his job, his house, his wife Margaret and his children – to live in the country and raise horses. Only one person in the family believes in him and stands by him, his sister-in-law Alice. The two of them tame a horse and prepare it to face and win the derby. On the day of the race, the horse runs brilliantly and wins, but after crossing the finish line, the exhausted animal dies… Broadway Bill, also known in Italy as Strettamente confidenziale was made by Frank Capra immediately after the success of It happened one night and it is no coincidence that the story is very similar…
