Hana Kotkova is an internationally acclaimed violinist who moved to Switzerland from her native Czech Republic to work with various artistic companies. Described by Steve Smith in the New York Times as a ‘sublime soloist’, she was a pupil of Yehudi Menunhin and Alberto Lysy at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad, where she herself has given lessons in recent years. In this wonderful recital she is accompanied by the English pianist Simon Mulligan, described by the Times of London as ‘the most gifted pianist’ by Yehudi Menuhin as ‘one of the best pianists I have had the pleasure of playing with’ and by Herbie Hancock as ‘phenomenal’.
