PIERO RATTALINO AND FRANCESCO PIEMONTESI: MEETING ON FRANZ LISZT

Meeting of the pianist Francesco Piemonteso and the musicologist Piero Rattalino. Theme: the three pieces of the ‘Years of Pilgrimage’ dedicated to the sonnets n. 47, 134 and 123 of Petrarch, much loved, along with Dante, by the Hungarian musician. Let us discover how Liszt translated the verses of the great Italian poem on the staff, interpreting in music places, readings, artistic and historical emotions. The pieces are part of the seven episodes born during Liszt’s first Roman sojourn, of which he made a version for song and piano.
