Nanette Roland lives an unhappy existence after her father dies leaving her penniless and her fiancé Raoul Challoner (Lon Chaney) disappears. Nanette agrees to marry Duncan McDougall’s son, Buck, only after much resistance, but Raoul’s reappearance drives her into the arms of the man she loves. Buck provokes Raoul into a fight, during which one of his men is accidentally killed. Raoul is accused of murder and arrested, but Nanette manages to free him and the two escape into the woods. Three years later, Raoul, Nanette and their baby are living in the woods when they are discovered, but their adventures are not yet over…

A great Deep North adventure classic that was difficult to make, featuring Lon Chaney with his true face for once.
