The great Russian pianist Lilya Zilberstein has put her dizzying international concert programme on hold to devote herself to a captivating video production based on two mythical figures of 19th-century piano composition. In her performance, she captures some dazzling moments from their output: F. Chopin’s graceful, full-bodied Rondo in C minor, Op. 1, and the lively Brilliant Variations, Op. 12, as well as two impressive Sonatas by L. van Beethoven, No. 2 in A major, Op. 2, and the incomparable Appassionata (No. 23 in F minor, Op. 57).
