Charley Chase (real name Charles Parrott) acted, wrote and directed hundreds of films. He was considered a true genius in his day, but was soon forgotten, especially during the transition from silent film to sound film. He worked early on with the giants of American comedy, from Mack Sennett to Charlie Chaplin, until he began a successful collaboration with Hal Roach, not forgetting his work with the great director Leo McCarey. A dazzling career that made him the most eminent exponent of ‘burlesque’, before his death at the age of 46. This second volume, which is also dedicated to him, brings together several of his best films from the silent film period, presented in restored versions, in order to give Chase his rightful place alongside such giants as the Marx brothers or the duo Laurel and Hardy.
