Lucky Star is undoubtedly one of Frank Borzage’s best silent films, with the visual majesty and emotional power of a Murnau, to whom Borzage was more than once compared. The film focuses almost exclusively on the relationship that develops between the two protagonists, and it is precisely this intimacy that makes it a work of extraordinary lyricism and intensity.
