During the First World War, a Belgian soldier, Paul Bergot (Harry Langdon), after being taken prisoner by the Germans, becomes the assistant of a human canonball, Zandow the Great, whom he follows to America in search of his godmother of war (Priscilla Bonner). Paul finds her, blind, only after countless adventures, in a small town where he ends up replacing the drunken Zandow. Harry Landgon’s original lunar comedy is brought out in this film, also known in Italy as ‘L’atleta innamorato’ or ‘L’uomo più forte del mondo’, directed by a young newcomer destined for a luminous career, Frank Capra. The film’s musical score was composed by saxophonist Stefano Di Battista.
